We recently made the pilgrimage to Legoland. It's a pretty cool place but it does skew a little young. The rides and attractions are definitely geared toward the 10 and under crowd. I think the Lego cityscapes are pretty awesome - of course, I'm still under the thrall of an article about the original Legoland from National Geographic World magazine that I read when I was a kid. (Nice sentence structure, no?)
Anyway, let's get to the pictures, shall we?
There is a large water-play area in the park. Cameron enjoyed the hand-crank squirt cannons immensely. I'm sure he would have figured out how to squirt his Uncle Adam on his own eventually...
Katy is showing our niece Madeline cause and effect - jump on a yellow circle, and the fountain turns on.
Claire sits with Lego Grandma for a minute.
Cameron monkeys around in one of the play areas. Lots of stuff for kids to climb on at Legoland.
Claire (foreground) and Cam (background) drive Lego cars. Both of them did pretty well negotiating traffic.
Cameron and I got wet (but not soaked) on the Fan Boats. A fun ride for a hot afternoon.
Claire and Cam in front of the U.S. Capitol.
The San Francisco skyline. (Inside joke alert!)
This picture captures the creativity on display at Legoland. It's is a cutaway of the New York City subway - you can see a train passing behind the arches. The workers in the foreground are trying to wrestle a crocodile out of a drain pipe and into a large cage. Classic!
Of course, Cameron's favorite part of the trip was picking out this set of Lego Bricks.
Claire is also most pleased with her Lego Flower set.
And that wraps up the trip.
